OCC presents:
Oslo Coupette Run 2025

Rules:

  1. Each competitor drinks six coupettes (12,5cl) of Champagne (a total of one bottle) and run 5 legs of approximately 1000m. A total of 5000m.

  2. The competitor must enter the call room/start area 30 minutes before the race starts. Each competitor have to drink two coupettes in the 30 minute window, one every 15 minuttes on the run leaders signal. As the race starts each competitor must drink one more coupette before starting the run, then run one leg, drink coupette, run leg, drink coupette, run leg, drink coupette, run leg, finish.

  3. Competitors can walk/move (no siting) in the call room/start area while drinking, but the coupette must be consumed before starting to run the first leg.

  4. Women also drink six coupettes and run five legs.

  5. Competitors must drink Champagne only. Other sparkling wines are not allowed. This year's sponsor and dedicated producer of fine bubbles is Pol Roger. 

  6. Each coupette must be drunk standing. Sitting down is not permitted under any circumstances.

  7. Competitors must run with the coupette in their right hand. If the coupette is broken, the competitor is disqualified. If the coupette is held in the left hand, a one-minute penalty is given, and the competitor has to drink an extra coupette before continuing.

  8. Competitors who vomit before they finish the race must complete a designated penalty leg at the end of the race before crossing the finishing line. Vomiting more than once during the race still only requires one penalty leg at the end.

  9. The top three runners who don’t throw up or break the coupette will automatically become members of Oslo Coupette Club. The OCC can initiate membership by invitation. The OCC can change the rules for the OCR at any time.

  10. The winner must hold a speech to the fellow competitors before the post-run banquet can commence.

  11. Dress code: safe running shoes, club or team outfit. If no conection to any club, classic running attire: singlet or t-shirt and shorts. No fast glasses.

  12. The OCR is potentially dangerous. You are participating at your own risk.

Disclaimer Oslo Coupette Run

By registering for and participating in the Oslo Coupette Run, taking place on June 14th, 2025, I hereby confirm the following:

This is an informal and social club event organized by Sankt Hanshaugen Løpeklubb, Dangerous Club, and Oslo Coupette Club. The run is not open to the general public, but only to members of the club and their personally invited friends and acquaintances.

  1. Own Risk
    I participate voluntarily and at my own risk. I understand that the run involves physical activity combined with alcohol consumption (one bottle of champagne) during the event. I confirm that I am physically and medically fit to participate.

  2. Acceptance of Risk
    I acknowledge that the combination of physical activity and alcohol consumption may increase the risk of injuries, illness, and other complications.

  3. Alcohol Consumption
    I participate with full understanding that I will consume alcohol during the run and that I am personally responsible for my own health and limits.

  4. Lack of Permits
    I have been informed that the event has not obtained the necessary public permits from the City of Oslo or the police, and I accept this.

  5. Liability Waiver
    I hereby waive any liability on the part of the organizer OCC, its employees, volunteers, and partners for any accidents, injuries, or illnesses that may occur.

  6. Insurance
    I am aware that the organizer does not provide personal accident or injury insurance for participants.

  7. Code of Conduct
    I commit to following the organizer’s instructions and to behaving responsibly towards other participants and the public.

  8. Use of Images and Video
    I consent to the organizer using photos, video recordings, and results from the event for marketing and documentation purposes.
